NOTICE OF UPCOMING FUNDRAISING EVENT
First Moremi Ajasoro Legacy Gala Fundraising Event
The Moremi Ajasoro fundraising gala is a legacy-building platform planned to preserve Yoruba civilization while investing in its future, with the Egbe Omo Yoruba North America (EOYNA) as the organizational partner. The Moremi Ajasoro Gala legacy aims to preserve Yoruba heritage, educate Yoruba youth, and build a better future for the next generation.
The Moremi Ajasoro Legacy Gala is planned to be memorable, dignified, and broad enough to become an annual signature fundraising event for the Moremi Foundation and its organizational partners, including EOYNA. Without any doubt in the belief of the Board Members of the Foundation, the three major objectives, namely Yoruba Heritage, Education of Youths, and Building a Better Future for the Generations to come, will remain the focus every year.
The Board Members of Moremi Foundation respectfully request that you sponsor and support the planned first Moremi Ajasoro Legacy Gala Fundraising Event, on a date to be announced later.
Moremi Ajasoro remains one of the most enduring Heroines in the history of the Yoruba people. Her courage, determination, and extraordinary sacrifices in protecting the people of Ile-Ife, the cradle of the Yoruba, have transformed her story into a powerful symbol of leadership, courage, patriotism, sacrifice, and devotion to the survival of the Yoruba people.
The Moremi Foundation seeks to transform that historic legacy into a contemporary educational and cultural MOVEMENT. The foundation’s goal is to ensure future generations not only hear the story of Moremi Ajasoro, but also understand the historic conquest, values, cultural knowledge, traditions, myths, intellectual heritage, and achievements of the Yoruba people in the 21st century.
Money raised through this initiative will support youth educational scholarships; Yoruba Language and cultural education; preservation and advancement of Yoruba arts, culture, myths, and traditional knowledge; the development of Moremi Ajasoro monuments; and the establishment of Yoruba houses in America and southwestern Nigeria as centers for cultural education, documentation, scholarship, research, and advanced study of Yoruba civilization in the Diaspora.
The Yoruba houses are envisioned as living institutions where scholars, educators, young people, cultural practitioners, and communities can explore the historical and contemporary dimensions of Yoruba identity and knowledge, while contributing to its preservation for generations to come.
We invite individuals, families, businesses, organizations, cultural institutions, and philanthropic partners to join us in this historic legacy gala fundraising event. Your contributions will help transform the memory of one woman’s extraordinary sacrifice into opportunities for education, cultural preservation, research, youth empowerment, and intergenerational legacy.
A gift or donation to the Moremi Foundation is therefore more than a donation to an event; it is an investment in knowledge, culture, education, and the future of the people. We would appreciate your generous donation or gift through our Zelle account (foundationmoremi@gmail.com) or Bank of America Account (003922906090).
We urge you to use your resources to honor the foundation and the Heroine legacy of Moremi Ajasoro, not only by remembering her sacrifice, but by continuing her legacy through what we can build together, teach together, and preserve together for the generations yet unborn.
Come, let us preserve Yoruba heritage, educate our youths, and build our future.
